During the dedication, parents acknowledge God's sovereignty over their child's life and pledge to nurture them in the faith through Prayer, Scripture, and Godly living.
“Hannah, after being granted her prayer for a son, dedicates her son Samuel to the Lord. She says, "I prayed for this boy, and the Lord has granted me my petition that I made to him. Therefore, I have given him to the Lord. As long as he lives, he is dedicated to the Lord." They then worship the Lord at the temple in Shiloh.”
